Our language trip to Eastbourne was an unforgettable journey of discovery and learning. Located on the south coast of England, Eastbourne became our home for a week of language study at a local language school where we improved our English skills through interactive classes and conversations with native speakers. We experienced Eastbourne as if we were locals and we are very happy to have been able to stay in such a beautiful town. We also learnt a lot about the interesting history of Great Britain.
Away from the classroom, our adventures took us to Hastings, a town rich in history and the site of the legendary Battle of Hastings in 1066. Walking through its medieval streets and tasting its famous fish and chips gave us a great insight into Hastings’ culture. Brighton, with its lively atmosphere, colourful streets and iconic pier, was another highlight. We wandered the lanes, sampled local food and admired the unique architecture of the Royal Pavilion.
The highlight of our trip was an amazing weekend in London. The city is full of life and culture, and we made the most of every moment, seeing all the famous landmarks on the Hop-On, Hop-Off bus tour. From the majestic Tower of London to Buckingham Palace, we saw sights that were both overwhelming and beautiful. Walking along the River Thames, we admired the London Eye, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. The streets of Covent Garden were filled with cultural experiences, beautiful buildings and good food, while Oxford Street and the shopping on the second day provided an amazing end to our stay in London.
On this trip we didn’t just learn the language, we experienced British culture first hand. From tasting traditional fish and chips to observing the polite exchanges that are so British, we have gained many experiences that we will remember for a lifetime, and quite a bit of vocabulary! We are very grateful for this trip, not only for the knowledge we gained, but also for the memories we made. It was an experience that broadened our horizons and will stay with us for years to come.
