First teachers’ meeting with French project partners at the BG/BRG Judenburg
The BG/BRG Judenburg cooperates in the Erasmus+ project “Let’s create a sustainable Europe together” with the College Pierre Dubois in Laval / France. The main topic of this EU-project is to raise awareness for a sustainable lifestyle and protection of environment not only among students but also among teachers. 22 Austrian and 22 French students aged 14 are involved in this project fully financed by the European Union.
From the 9th – 12th January the project coordinators of the BG/BRG Judenburg Mag. Bernd Fiechtl and Mag.a Ilse Prenn welcomed two project partners from France to a job-shadowing. Mrs. Cecile Lebloa and Mrs. Cecile Pitois visited the BG/BRG Judenburg in order to get some impressions of the school and to discuss next activities in the project.
The job-shadowing programme comprised a wide range of activities. The French project partners accompanied several Austrian teachers in order to participate in their lessons. They got an insight into language classes and also bilingual and science classes. They also joined another ongoing eco-project lead by Mrs. Dr. Eva Gergely where the local Forestry Association lead an online seminar for approx. 60 students on the importance of forests in the area and in Styria in general. In the afternoons the project partners spend time with reflecting on the lessons andthe cooperation and developed new ideas for the future.
Participating students from the 4th grades were already matched with their exchange students and they have been communicating for several weeks now. In February the partners will organise more online meetings with the students as digital learning is a major topic of this project. In March two students’ exchanges will take place. The first one will be carried out in Austria and the second one will be organised in Laval. These exchanges will contain a programm with workshops on green sustainablity as well as social, cultural and sports activities. All students will be hosted by host families. The Austrian students will be accompanied to France by Prof. Timo Pichler and Prof. Bernd Fiechtl.
